About Margin Calculation
What is Margin?
Margin is the amount of money required to open and maintain a trading position. It acts as a security deposit and is determined by your position size and leverage ratio.
Currency Pair
The forex pair you plan to trade (e.g., EUR/USD). The calculator uses real-time exchange rates to determine the position value.
Account Currency
Your trading account's base currency. The margin requirement will be calculated and displayed in this currency using live exchange rates for conversion.
Leverage
The leverage multiplier provided by your broker (e.g., 1:100 means you can control $100,000 with $1,000 margin). Higher leverage requires less margin but increases risk.
Trade Size (Lots)
Position size in lots. 1 lot = 100,000 units. (XAU: 1 lot = 100 units)
